5 Reasons Why Beer Can Be Good For You
We all know Happy Hour is one of the greatest things ever “invented” so check out a few reasons why you don’t need to feel so guilty pounding down a few brews.
Yea we know they say “moderation” is key to any alcohol related “benefits”, but hey at least you can feel good about that first bucket of long necks!
Beer Can Help Keep You Hydrated
Researchers at Granada University in Spain say that beer beats water when it comes to hydration. Subjects ran on a treadmill in 104-degree temps until they couldn’t take it anymore, then their hydration levels, motor skills, and ability to concentrate were measured. Half of the runners were given two half pints of Spanish lager while the other half were given water. The beer drinkers scored slightly better as a result that’s attributed to sugars salts, and bubbles in the beer enhancing the body’s ability to soak up water. As a bonus, the carbohydrates replaced the calories they just sweated out. Now you can feel better about hitting the sauce after that Friday or Saturday workout!
Beer as a Brain Beverage
A study published in the Journal of the American Heart Association found that moderate drinking may be associated with better brain function. Women who consumed up to two drinks a day scored 20 percent higher on a cognitive functioning test than those who had less than one drink.

This beer is best served with salads or light fruit desserts, such as soufflés or chiffon cakes. Many people enjoy it with chocolate desserts. Purple Haze pairs well with certain cheeses, such as ripened Brie or any dessert made with Mascarpone. It’s also great paired with entrees prepared with fruit, especially citrus. Consider enjoying Purple Haze alone at the end of your meal as dessert.

Sink The Bismark! is their latest beer to claim this title as last year in 2009, they set the same record with their 32% ABV beer, Tactical Nuclear Penguin. Rival German brewery Schorschbräu however, reclaimed the beer potency title with increasing their Schorschbock beer ABV from 31% ABV to 40% ABV. This prompted Brewdog to brew this ridiculous beer and counterattack known as Sink The Bismark!.
